Library Board of Trustees

Purpose


The Library Board of Trustees oversees the operations of the Onslow County Public Library in offering programs and informational materials to the citizens through books, audiovisuals, and research materials.  The Board of Trustees recommends policy to the Onslow County Board of COmmissioners and plans long-range goals for the Library.  The Board of Trustees serves as an advocate for funding for the Library.

Meetings & Members

There are 10 members of the Library Board of Trustees who are each appointed by the Onslow County Board of Commissioners for three-year staggered terms. There is at least one Board member representing the following townships or constituencies: Jacksonville, Richlands, Swansboro, White Oak, Stump Sound, Military, Retired Persons, and Minorities. There are two At-Large members. 
  • The Library Board of  Trustees meets on the second Tuesday of every other month at 4 p.m.
