Motor Vehicle Valuation Review Board

Purpose

The Motor Vehicle Valuation Review Board hears and decides tax appeals involving registered motor vehicles.
Vehicle owners may file a written appeal of the appraised value with the County Tax Office within 30 days of the due date shown on the front of your vehicle registration renewal. The Tax Office will provide information to assist the taxpayer to arrange an appeal meeting with a Vehicle Review Board member. Taxes are to be paid on the motor vehicle when they are due and are subject to a full or partial refund if the appeal is decided in the owner's favor.

Meetings & Members

The Motor Vehicle Valuation Review Board consists of three members who are annually appointed by the Onslow County Board of Commissioners.
The Vehicle Board reviews appeals on a case by case basis and does not have a regular meeting schedule.
