One Book, One Community

Coastal Carolina Community College and Onslow County Public Library are excited to come together to host a One Book, One Community yearlong program of events centered around a common book and theme.

The book selected for 2019-2020 is Call Me American: A Memoir by Abdi Nor Iftin. The author tells his incredible story living as a refugee in war-torn Somalia and his extraordinary journey to come to America to live in peace, work hard, and most importantly, become an American citizen. Our hope is that each community member who connects with Abdi's story will be inspired to embrace their own personal journey. Please click the tabs above to learn more!
