Onslow County EMS is always looking for qualified Paramedics and EMTs!

The Onslow County EMS work schedule consists of shift work. The schedule runs three days one week and four days the second week in 12 hour shifts. You are scheduled off three days every other weekend.

As an Onslow County EMS employee you are required to be available for work during times of disaster or other events requiring essential personnel.  



Pre-Employment Requirements

  • NC Paramedic or EMT-B certification (or ability to obtain reciprocity
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must have High School diploma or GED
  • Obtain a criminal background record check from all locations resided in last 5 years
  • Select Skills Assessment Test 
  • Sign authorization to release information for employment purposes 
After Employment Requirements

  • HIPAA/Annually 
  • ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700, ICS 800 
  • In-house training and orientation 
  • Mandatory quarterly continuing education 
  • Mandatory ACLS, ITLS, PEPP, PALS 
  • Annual Onslow County Safety Training
  • Annual Driver Safety Training 
  • Sign a confidentiality statement
