When real property accounts become seriously past due, the County may initiate a foreclosure proceeding. If the property owner fails to act, the property will likely be put up for public auction.
Tax foreclosure cases are assigned to attorneys who are contracted by the county. If a case proceeds to public auction, there is no particular date that sales may be held. They are advertised in the local paper, The Jacksonville Daily News.
