The Sheriff's Law Enforcement Explorers consists of young men and women, age 14 to 21. The Explorers Program was started by the Sheriff's Office in 1991. The program is designed to educate and train the youth of the county, who are interested in pursuing law enforcement as a career.
The training is extensive and offers a wide range of experience in law enforcement training, due to the help of local, state, federal and military law enforcement agencies. As a result of this training, the young citizens are able to assist other agencies with events throughout the year.
Making a Difference
The youth are also positive role models in the community and schools. Our greatest dividends come when we invest in our youth.
