Movie in the Park
September 14
Richlands Steed Park
Movie begins at sunset (7:30 p.m.)

Relax, unwind, and watch a movie under the stars at Stump Sound Park on September 14.  Onslow County Parks and Recreation will feature a showing of “Pete’s Dragon”.   Movie is free, open to the public, and showing will begin at sunset. Don’t forget to bring a blanket or chair.  Coolers welcome, no glass containers

City to the Sea Bike Ride
September 30, 2 p.m.

A great way to cool down from hot summer temperatures is to hop on your bike and ride to the coast. Onslow County is partnering with the Bicycle Shop to host a 21-mile bike ride from the city to the sea on September 30 at 2 p.m.  The ride will begin at Food Lion parking lot on Piney Green and end at Hammocks Beach State Park with refreshments, fellowship, and prizes. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged, but if you miss online registration you can register the day of the event at 1:30 p.m. Event is free and open to everyone. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Riders must provide return transportation. It is recommended that all riders be in good physical condition and that all use proper safety equipment including bike helmets.
