Dog Day in the Park​​October 14, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.​
Onslow Pines Park

​​Bring your family and your best four-pawed pal to Onslow Pines Park for the annual Paws in the Park (formally Dog Day in the Park) on Saturday, October 14, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will off a rabies clinic, photo contest, dog pageant, pageant for young girls with their dog, games, and vendors. There will be a Dog Jog (one mile fun run/walk) at 9 a.m.; $10 registration fee includes T-shirt and prizes will be awarded. Join us for a fun day of activities for you, your dog, and the whole family.​

​Registration Required: Pre-registration preferred ​Onsite registration: 9 AM (cash only) ​​To make sure everyone has a fun/safe experience, we’ve established a set of rules for all (man and dog) to follow: ​
​ · All dogs must be leashed for the duration of the event.​
​· All dogs should wear a current rabies tag, a pet ID tag and be up to date on all vaccinations. ​
​· To avoid stirring-up the pack, please, no dogs “in heat”.​
​· Please do not bring a dog that may be a threat to others. Event officials reserve the right to refuse aggressive animals entry into the event.
​​· Please be responsible, courteous and obey Park rules. Be sure to clean up after your pet. ​
​· In consideration of the other animals, please be sure your pet is flea-free. ​

Halloween Hoopla
​October 20, 5-10 pm

​Come out to Onslow Pines Park for a ghoulish good time at Halloween Hoopla on October 20, 2017 from 5-10 p.m. Play a round of cosmic boo-ball (glow in the dark dodgeball), bring your four-legged friend and enter the Bow-Wow-Ween Dog Costume Contest, enter the costume contest, and unwind with a movie under the stars. The Bow-Wow-Ween Dog Costume Contest will have three categories for dogs to compete in: Sugar N' Spice & Everything Nice, Toil & Trouble, and Superheroes vs. Villains. The costume contest will have seven categories: Ages 2 and under, ages 3-5, ages 6-8, ages 9-12, ages 13-17, and 18 and up. The event will conclude with a showing of “Frankenwennie” and begins at 8:30 p.m.

Bow-Wow-Ween Dog Costume
​ Contest October 20, 6 p.m.
​Registration begins at 5 p.m.

​ There'll be three categories for dogs to compete in: Sugar N' Spice & Everything Nice, Toil & Trouble, and Superheroes vs. Villains. Contestants will be able to pre-register at the Princess for Paws website http://www.princessforpaws.org/ In order to continue to support Service Dogs in our community, we ask that contestants donate a dog toy(s) worth $5, (5) cans of dog food, or make a $5 donation to Princess for Paws. All toys and food will be donated to the Onslow County Animal Shelter. All monetary donations will go towards Princess for Paws to help support Veterans and families in need of Service Dogs.
