  4. Let's Talk About It - Picturing America: Making Tracks - Main Library

    This literary discussion series, sponsored by the North Carolina Humanities Council and the Jacksonville Friends of the Library, brings together scholars and community members to explore how selected media illuminate the theme of “Picturing America: Making Tracks." Explore historical accounts of the construction of the transcontinental railroad, one of America's most ambitious efforts, through books, poems, and film. Continuing Education Credits are available to those who attend all 4 sessions.

    This project is made possible by a grant from the North Carolina Humanities Council, a statewide nonprofit and affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. “Let’s Talk About It” is a joint project of the North Carolina Humanities Council and the North Carolina Center for the Book, a program of the State Library of North Carolina/Department of Cultural Resources and an affiliate of the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress.
