The PEERS Family Development Center is a volunteer and community supported program aimed at promoting the growth and development of families. PEERS offers parenting education courses free of charge. Child care is provided during the sessions and transportation can be arranged for families without access to vehicles. In addition, PEERS has a program for first time teen mothers age 17 or younger, and free Drop-in Child care available three mornings each week.
PEERS is a program designed to Parents to offer Education, Empathy, Rapport and Support. All services at PEERS are for the primary and secondary prevention of child abuse and neglect. It is the goal of PEERS to help parents be the best they can be in their parenting role.
Volunteers make the PEERS program work. Each year 150 men and women volunteer their time and talents. To become a PEERS volunteer, call the Volunteer Coordinator at 333-9727.
