The Civil Division is assigned to handle the businesses of the courts, security, orders, warrants criminal summons, subpoenas, juvenile summons, civil process (all types), domestic violence orders, mental and detox transports, writs to bring out of county prisoners to court, judge's orders to bring jurors to court, and entering all the processes into the computer system for the Onslow County Sheriff's Office and other agencies.  You can imagine the demands placed on their division when you consider there are 7 courts in session at one time.  Responsibilities include:

  • Security for the Courts
  • Review and record processes from the court to include those issued by the magistrate.
  • Service and return of processes, criminal and civil.
  • Transporting of mental patients and inmates.
  • Providing inmates to the Courts for trial.
