Onslow County Mosquito and Vector Control works year round in effort to help protect residents from mosquito borne diseases and potential flooding by our rivers and creeks. During the late fall, winter and early spring our crews work diligently to clear our rivers and their tributaries of natural debris such as trees, stumps, branches, etc. In the late spring, summer and early fall their efforts concentrate on pesticide work to kill adult mosquitoes and their larvae.
We also work in conjunction with the USDA Wildlife Service in trapping and removal of beavers and their dams.
Our office hours are 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday. We are closed on weekends and holidays. Our spraying activities typically take place between the hours of 7 p.m. and midnight. Occasionally we spray from 4 a.m. thru 7 a.m.
