Assistant County Manager Ben Warren

Ben Warren joined Onslow County in October 2011 as the Director of the Planning & Development Department. In 2017, he was promoted to Assistant County Manager and currently provides executive oversight for Animal Services, Asset & Facility Management, Environmental Services, Information Technology Services, Parks & Recreation, Planning & Development, Solid Waste, the Tax Office, and Vehicle Maintenance.

Mr. Warren was raised in White Lake, North Carolina and has spent the last 15 years of his career in local government. He served as the Planning Director in Aberdeen, NC, a Senior Planning Consultant with Benchmark CMR, Inc, and the Planning Director for the City of Kannapolis before moving to Onslow County. Mr. Warren earned his B.S. Degree in Community & Regional Planning from Appalachian State University. He has also attended the Senior Executive Institute at the University of Virginia, the UNC School of Government’s Public Executive Leadership Academy, and the UNC School of Government’s Municipal and County Administration Course and is a 4-year veteran of the U.S. Army.
