Stop the Bleed is a program developed by the ACS Committee on Trauma, the American College of Surgeons, the Department of the Defense, and the National Security Council to build community resilience through training the public on life threatening bleeding. Onslow County Health Department received grant funding in 2018 to create a Stop the Bleed program and disseminate Stop the Bleed kits. Since that time, Onslow County Health Department has partnered with Onslow County EMS and Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune to provide training and kits to Onslow County Schools, Onslow County Government, first responders, and numerous community organizations. To date Onslow County’s Stop the Bleed program has trained over 6,000 people. To request a free Stop the Bleed training for your organization, please email community_relations@onslowcountync.gov or call (910) 989-3915.
