The Planning and Development department reviews plan submittals, issues permits for and does inspections of fire safety and protection systems as well as other specialty permits. A link to the specialty fire application can be found here or in the link to the right. The completed application should be submitted to central permitting at permitting@onslowcountync.gov.

- Fire Alarm systems (new and upgrades)
- Fire Sprinkler systems (new and upgrades)
- Fire Pump systems (new and upgrades)
- Commercial Kitchen Hood Suppression systems (new and upgrades)
- Alternative Fire Suppression systems
- Standpipe systems (new and upgrades)
- Underground fire lines and FDC’s
- Tents (in excess of 800 square feet) and air supported structures (in excess of 400 square feet)
- Tank removal
- Fuel pump installation or replacement
