School Resource Officers

The Sheriff's Office has 29 School Resource Officers assigned to every elementary, middle, and high school. School Resource Officers are career law enforcement officers with sworn authority who are in a community-oriented policing assignment to collaborate with the Onslow County School system. Deputies assigned to the program have at least one year of law enforcement experience (generally our SROs have several) and have completed specialized training in SRO functions, community policing, and rapid deployment.

Questions regarding the SRO Unit can be directed to Sgt. Baker and Sgt. Bouakio.
