Montford Point Marines Museum
The Montford Point Marines Museum has the largest collection of photographs, documents and papers preserving the history and heritage of the African American Marines that served during and after WWII from 1942 to 1949.

Daughters of the American Revolution Chapters
Onslow County has two chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution. If you know or believe you have a patriot ancestor a DAR chapter is a great starting point in the process towards membership.

U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA)

Atlas of Historical County Boundaries
An interactive tool that allows the user to select their State of interest and discover how it developed and changed over time. The user may select a date within the list provided to view how the State appeared at the time of a border change. By scrolling over a region of interest, one may learn the County/Region, Effective Dates, and Description of Border Change.  This project was developed by the William M. Scholl Center for American History and Culture at The Newberry Library in Chicago, IL.
