ONSLOW COUNTY, NC--Onslow County Government offices and services will have modified hours in observance of Memorial Day. Most offices will be closed Monday, May 29, 2017. Normal business hours will resume Tuesday, May 30.
- Albert J. Ellis Airport will operate on schedules as set by the airlines. Administrative offices will be closed May 29. Airport officials recommend arriving early to reduce stress, as higher traffic is expected due to the Memorial Day weekend. Passengers are encouraged to arrive no later than one hour prior to their flight and to check their flight status on airline websites for any flight changes.
- E911 and Emergency Medical Services will be available. Administrative offices will be closed May 29.
- Onslow County Animal Services (OCAS) will be closed May 29. Animal control officers will continue to respond to emergency calls. OCAS will operate normal business hours on Saturday, May 27 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Onslow County Landfill and its convenience sites will be closed on the holiday, but will operate normal business hours on Saturday, May 27 from 6:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- All Onslow County Libraries will be closed May 29. Branches will be open their normal business hours on Saturday, May 27. The Main Branch (Jacksonville) will be open Sunday, May 28 from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
SPECIAL NOTICE: The Swansboro Library Branch will also be closed Tuesday, May 30 and Wednesday, May 31 for interior painting. The branch will reopen Thursday, June 1 at 9 a.m. - The Onslow County Museum will be closed May 29. The Museum will be open Saturday, May 27 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
SPECIAL NOTICE: Tuesday, May 30 begins Onslow County Museum’s status as a “Blue Star Museum.” From May 30 through Veterans Day, the Museum will offer free admission to active duty military and up to five family members. For more information on Blue Star Museums: https://www.arts.gov/national/blue-star-museums - Onslow County Parks and Recreation administrative offices will be closed. All parks will remain open throughout the holiday weekend.
