1. Does E-911 already have my address when I call?

In most circumstances your address and contact information will automatically populate our system. However, this can vary depending on the type of phone you are calling from.

We will ask it again to make sure our information is correct on our equipment. For this reason, it is important that all individuals in the household, including children, are capable of relaying this information to our telecommunicators.

2. How can I apply for a position with E-911 services?

3. What are your administration office hours?

Administrative office hours are:
Monday - Friday
8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

4. What are your dispatch hours?

Dispatch is available 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

5. What happens if I dial 911 and hang up?

When you dial 911 from a land line phone and hang up, we will immediately call you back. If we do not get an answer we automatically send a deputy/ officer to your address to verify you are okay.

If you accidentally dial 911, please stay on the line and let us know it was a misdial.

6. What is the definition of a non-emergency call?

Non-emergent calls are for situations that pose no injury or loss of life.

Examples of non-emergent situations include but are not limited to:
-You need to contact a police officer about an ongoing investigation
-Questions about services such as plowing of roads.
-Animal nuisances
-Noise complaints

7. What is the non-emergency phone number for E-911 Communications?

For non-emergent questions, or situations that pose no injury or loss of life, please dial 910-455-9119.

8. What kinds of questions will you ask me?

The nature of your call will determine what types of questions our telecommunicators will ask you.

Every time you dial 911 you will always be asked:
- What is the address of your emergency?
- What is the telephone number that you are calling from?
- What is the problem?
- Can you tell us exactly what happened?

9. Why do you ask me so many questions?

Our telecommunicators will ask necessary questions to determine the level of response and number of responders needed, ensure prompt arrival of emergency personnel and to advise responders of potentially hazardous situations.
