NC Works

At your local library, the NC Works Career Center staff provide you with the tools you need to succeed. They can help you find work, improve your skills, and connect you to other resources to help you prepare for interviews and make a good impression on employers. The following services are offered at no charge to all seeking a job: career assessment and guidance, access to training and education programs, learn about job fairs and workshops, information on the job market, assistance with searching for jobs, resume and cover letter preparation, practice interviewing for jobs, free computer and Internet access, and help registering with and using NC Works Online.

Need some help with research? Looking for a new favorite book? Maybe looking for a new job, career opportunities, or help prepping for a test? NC Live is a one-stop research tool that can help you with all of these things and more. Join us for an introduction to NC Live, including how to access NC Live and how to use it to get the most out of your library card. Don't forget to bring your own device or use one of ours. Registration is required and sign up will be made available 30 days before the event.

Family Storytime (0-5 years old) - Richlands

Introduce books, reading, and language through stories, songs, rhymes, and movement. Come learn fun ways to help build the early literacy skills children need to become successful readers!

Tarheel Tombstones (Adult) - Richlands

The use of grave markers, headstones, and tombstones dates back thousands of years when our ancestors were first learning how to bury their dead. As time went on, these markers became more elaborate, with carved designs and symbols adorning them. Join Lisa Whitman-Grice, Onslow County Museum Director, as we learn about the history, design and basic care of tombstones.
