Due to Covid 19, Onslow County Services hours have changed. Services are by appointment only. Rabies Vaccination Clinic is offered, by appointment, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.
Tuesday - Friday Hours: Noon - 5:00pm. Adoptable animals are shown until 4:00pm. Saturday Hours: 10:00am - 4:00 pm. Adoptable animals are shown until 3:30pm. All appointments are made same-day. Please call 910-937-1164 after 8:00am Tuesday - Saturday to schedule an appointment.

Than you for your patience during Covid-19 as our adoption process has been changed to better serve you at this time.All meet & greets/adoptions will be by appointment only. We recommend visiting our website at https://www.onslowcountync.gov/186/Animals to view our currently adoptable animals. To schedule an appointment, please call after 8:00am Tuesday - Saturday. Adoption appointments are available between 12:00pm and 4:00pm Tuesday - Friday and 10:00am to 3:30pm Saturday. During your appointment, you will be given time to interact with our animals to find the perfect fit. Staff is always happy to answer any questions you may have and try to assist you in finding a good match. Once you have selected your new furry family member, we will need you to complete an adoption contract. Cash and cards are accepted for adoption fee payment, and we will need a valid drivers license or military ID. Adoption fees for dogs are $140 and include core vaccinations, 30-day flea & tick treatment, basic dewormer, heartworm test, sppay/neuter and microchip. Cat adoptions are $100 and include core vaccinations, 30-day flea & tick treatment, basic dewormer, spay/neuter and microchip. Once the contract is complete, you may bring your new friend home!
Adoption fee includes initial core vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchip. Cash, credit and debit payments are accepted.

Onslow County Animal Services accepts a variety of donated items. Our nonprofit partner Friends of Animal Services maintains a wishlist of most needed items. You may pick a list up at the shelter, or request via email: firstname.lastname@example.org. We are grateful for all donations!
OCAS is always looking for new fosters to help care for our shelter friends most in need. If you wish to become a foster, you may complete an application at the shelter, or request an application via email to OCASFOSTER@onslowcountync.gov
